you need the female splined piece that clamps to the rack right?  me too.  it was a larger diameter on the power racks.  speedway and other hot rod places sell a u-joint set up that eliminates the rag joint.  i havent gotten around to doing my manual rack swap yet so i couldnt give you the part number.

insted of a female coupler on the rack and column joined by the "rubberdoughnut" looking rag joint, it has two female ends with a small u-joint, like a drive shaft, connecting the two.

edit...for some reason the whole thing didnt show up to click on.  go to www.speedwaymotors.com (http://www.speedwaymotors.com) and search steering u joint.  if you finish your swap and use one of these, could you list the part number you use?

It is def the right part with the smaller input splines for the manual rack. i had one for power that i used and the spare from a manual steering car.  i can take a pic this evening if you wish but 100% sure i have what you are lookin for.

I PM them and the other part will be on the way shortly but I will still make you an offer as soon as I check my funds. Not a bad idea to have a spare.
