Title: Hedman 2 Piece Header
Post by: Pangra74 on March 20, 2010, 03:20:42 PM
Any of you guys running a 2 piece Hedman street header? Is there a special clamp to hold the upper amd lower tubes together? The tubes slip together nice and tight, but I assume they need to be clamped so as not to come apart under exhaust pressure. I can make up a clamping system, but wondered if any of you know if there was a Hedman part.

When new they had tabs that were welded to each half and then bolted together. I've also welded the two together with no problems.

Yep, I sort of figured something like that. I'll probably just make up some small angle brackets and have them welded on and use thru bolts.

I even bought a set that were pop riveted together. They are VERY GOOD headers. And they FIT!!!!

Hey.....pop rivets. That's even easier if they don't leak! Maybe even a pair of short sheet metal screws on opposite sides!

I used heavy duty springs on the tabs, so when you bottom out the exhaust has some give.

Kyle,

I assume you're talking about the flange from the header to the exhaust, right?
