I have the minivan 5 speed in my 1973 wagon too . How do you tell a 2.0 from the 2.3 ? The engine in the pinto has a lot of H.P. stuff so it makes it hard to find out what it is .The car has lots of mods so it could have been changed to a 2.3 . I found a mint running 2.3 for a 100 bones so I just need to know if I can use my tansmission stuff . Thanks !
The easiest way to tell is looking at the oil filler cap. If it's towards the front of the engine it's a 2.0 and if it's towards the rear it's a 2.3 . ;D
Yes and NO. Flywheel is the same BUT the bolt pattern is different. Aftermarket flywheels are double drilled for both bolt patterns. Clutch should be the same for both 2.0 & 2.3.
Hey thanks for the help ,one more pinto on the road !
Be carefull using the double-drilled flywheels on an engine with good HP, I broke the center out of one with my hopped-up nitrous injected 2.0, the flywheel was rated for up to 200 HP. (??)
