Hello there.. I've just been getting frustrated bigtime by my Pinto problem that I thought I'd rant & rave about it for a little bit.

It all started when I went to get my Pinto out of storage to drive it home to work on it. The snow had just melted away & I wanted to work on my wiring, so I went to start it up, & it would only crank. Only 2 weeks ago I drove it to the storage place & parked it since I just sold the car I had in there & needed a place to put the Pinto.

Anyways, I tried everyrthing in the storage aside from a shot gun & dynomite... New plugs cap & rotor, checked the ignition box & coil, checked wires & replaced the coil wire, put gas in it... Finally I got it to start up & it's running like crap. Only 2 cylinders firing... Pulled out the plugs & got another set put them in & still 2 cylinders.. Was going to start it up again & check with my timing light for all wires to see if they're all firing, but it wouldnt restart.

Now I gotta figure out what to so as all my tools are at my house but the car is in the storage place 1/2 mile away... not too far, but none the less a big pain in the butt.

OK I'm done now, so I'll let you all go.... Oh and by the way, this car is anything but shiney... when I get hub caps on it that'll be the shineyest part on it.

update: After fighting with my car I broke down & bought more parts for it. Ignition coil, wires, more spark plugs, and distributor parts to rebuild the old one.

After I replaced the coil plugs & wires the car fired right up as if nothing was ever wrong. Don't know which of those parts were bad to begin with, nor do I care as I atleast got it running. I just bought cheap parts so I could just get it on the road again, but atleast it fixed the problem.

I did keep the distributor parts handy though, as I have a spare distributor I'm going to rebuild for the new motor... even gonna buy better ignition parts for this one.
