Well, after putting the car in storage i ordered some parts for my Pinto, and they should be arriving soon. I did find out the car originally had red exterior & black interior so that's what the car is going back to, as opposed to green in & out. I'm getting the hubcaps for it in a few days so no more bald steel wheels showing through.
I'm putting a floor console from a Mustang II in my Pinto, as well as the deluxe door & back panels so that'll make my interior look pretty nice. My brother has got a digital cam so once I get the parts I'll get some pix of them & my progress on my car.
I'll keep all you guys posted.
Well, here's some much needed updates about my Pinto.. First off, it now runs. It was dead with a bad ignition system, but now runs, and faster than 50 mph I might add.. prior to the car dying it had a top speed of 50 mph, if I was lucky.
Anyways, also the car now has a working cigarette lighter, which I wired up when I replaced my fuse box- No I don't smoke, but I need the power outlet-
More importantly, there is now a shiney part on the car... 4 hubcaps from ebay. They were quite dull when I bought them, but a little elbow grease & polishing compound & they shine...
I'll get some pix up soon.
As promised, here's some pix... Notice the shiney wheel covers
My replacement engine after painting the block
The floor console I got online from a Mustang II Fits really nice I just gotta paint it to match the interior. ;D
Bad news... :'(
After a long fight with cancer my Pinto is on her death bed. They say there's not much to be done at this point, as she keeps on fading away... Not much time left till she's gone. :'(
But don't be saddened by the death of another Pinto, as she will live on as so many others like her have... through doning. Yes, she will be a donor for my next Pinto once I find another one.
Now, a moment of silence..... :'( :'( :'(
