Hey, did anyone here buy the orange '73 Pinto Wagon that closed Sunday on Ebay? It was in Hesperia, CA.

I was strongly considering bidding on it. Then..., about 10 minutes before it closed the wife came in saying, 'her MPV wouldn't start.' :(
Between the distraction and concern for the cost on the MPV repair I just let it slide. But, I d like to find out how good (or bad) the car turned out to be. It seemed pretty straight and complete to me. A good buffing, cleaning and tune-up likely would have made a decent driver. It sold for $735.01.

I live in Hesperia. I knew where that car was. It was pretty clean, other than it just being left outside in the weather....which is why the paint was oxidized. Otherwise, it was strait and complete.
There are tons of Pinto's and even Bobcats around here.
Thanks Pinto Pro.
And, wouldn't you know the problem with the MPV seems to be the battery. Of course my wife erroneously said it wouldn't "turn over" when she needed to say "it cranked, but wouldn't start." Then there was the battery test at Kragen that said it was good. I tested it cranking and got 7 volts. I cranked the daylights out of it, and took it back and guess what... yep... - it failed.
Oh, well, my interest was primarily that it looked like a "promising" car more than I needed another '73 wagon. Truth be told I really want a Capri, or a "trunk" '73 or earlier Pinto. And the reality is I don't need either, I only want them. My 10 year project Sunbeam Tiger still awaits. Then there is the "one year" roofline Rambler American hardtop, the Corvair station wagon, etc., etc., etc. sitting in the yard.
I sure hope that orange wagon went to a good home. You don't see very many plain early orange wagons around.
Yeah, too many projects already!!...in this hard times, I doubt if I can get to all of mine too!!
