Title: Pick a Part 50% off sale this weekend!
Post by: Wittsend on February 12, 2010, 05:56:26 PM
For those who might frequent the Sun Valley, CA Pick A Part they had the folllowing at the "Pick A Part" 50% off sale:

78 Pinto, wagon, brown, V6, auto, 8" rearend.  Most of this car was pretty rough, there was the 8" rear.  The tag was missing, but it seemed to be a 3.55 based on the rough estimate of the driveshaft revolutions.

There was a late 70's Mustang II, white, V8, auto 8" rearend.  Most of that cars body was pretty nice.  The 8" rear was a 3:00 (tag checked).

At the near by U-Pull Parts they had a 77-78 Pinto, trunk model. It was a V6, auto with a 3:00 8" rearend (tag checked).  This car was pretty rough too.

No Bobcats, Murkurs, Turbo Coupes etc..  They sure seem to be getting hard to find.  Perhaps more will return soon.  The "Clunkers" seem to be clearing out - somewhat.  Kind of a sad trip as I got NOTHING!

The brown wagon had a tan-ish color as best I recall.  At best the interior plastic was marginally OK.  The rest as I recall was pretty shot.

I can't remember the color of the car at U-Pull parts.  I think it was blue or green.  The trunk was about the only part that stood out as decent to me.

Both Pintos were rather rough.  The Mustang II was rather clean body wise (as shame it was there), but even there I recall the interior either being rather worn or removed.

Thank you. I'm really mostly looking for the later-model armrests. I would love to find a pair in medium to dark brown and a pair in avocado green but any green will probably do... as long as they're not torn or the "skeleton" broken. I'm also collecting 1nner door panels with kicking foal emblem. I believe the '72-'74s had that as deluxe interior.

I believe it was you looking for Ghia emblems???  The Mustang II I found was a Ghia.  However, the emblems on the rear roof pillar are hard to get off.  They are held with a slip on clip and getting to it seems nearly impossible as the roof support in doubled.  Anyway, I tried to pry it off, but eventually the post snapped.  Sorry.

Oh well... thank you anyway for trying! lol. BTW, what color was the MII Ghia? I fell in love with a '76 that was teal (obviously after-market) with white landau top and white interior. It had a V8 and automatic. Did that car fly! It was in San Bernardino in '95. I love those Mustang IIs!

It was white with a tanish roof. It was a "trunk" model.  Seemed a shame, V-8, rather straight body.
