Title: Stalked a Pinto for a few minutes then I jumped.
Post by: Glassman on December 20, 2004, 06:35:01 PM
The owner said "its been in the family for 25 years and its not for sale".

I was on my way to work and saw a 72 Pinto. I caught up with it. It was in good shape. Puke green with a white interior. A lot less rust than my wagon. I followed it into a parking lot and drove up on the drivers side. The owner laughed at first when I asked if he ever thought of selling it? He said he was planning on restoring it and maybe doing an engine swap. Possibly a turbo 2.3 . I told him about this site. I have my eye on a couple wagons. One fell through. Im going to see if I can talk to the owner of a yellow wagon. I forget what year it is at the moment. I would like a 74 or above though. I wouldnt want all the new parts on the rust bucket to go unused for much longer.

Too funny man!

I am doing a project '76 Runabout turbo swap. Wanting to build a daily driver for many years to come. Am hoping I can preserve the body with preventive measures to make it last. Planning on using a prodauct called POR15 to coat basically anything that can get wet, inside the doors, complete underbody etc.

Your story about stalking the Pinto is pretty funny. I think anybody driving a Pinto today has to love them.

I know this is off-topic, but you think POR15 is a quality product? I found it searching the net and it looked pretty good. Nice to hear someone knows of it and endorses it, or so it appears. Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks guys,
Dave

The thread doesnt have the pics I wrote I would post. I didnt think it was worth repeating what can be seen on the POR-15 website. Anyway heres a little about my time with it.
