Post by: IWANTAPINTO on February 06, 2010, 08:05:38 PM
I am in the process of building a 302 engine for my swap. Soon I will need the sorrect oil pan. Can someone point me in the right direction? Maybe give me a few sites to look into. I will need direction to the correct oil pump pickup as well.

Was the car a v6????? I documented my entire conversion from start to finish way back when. As I was not familiar with websites at that time I made a new thread each time I documented my progress till I found I could put things on one continuous thread...duh. Anyway search keywords High_Horse...Thunderpinto...302/c4. Goodluck to you.

Summit also makes a front sump pan and pickup that is very similar to the millodon.

I found this one on the Jegs website.....

does that look like what I need? I did a search for a 1977 mustang II V8 oil pan and that is what came up.

Nope, thats not it, I don't know why they list that for a MII because it won't fit. I went through the same thing when I did my swap. If you look at the list of cars that pan fits you'll see that it fits all kinds of SBF cars. The MII pan is for the MII only. The Millodon pan and the Summit pan are shallow on the back part of the pan with a larger sump. Should be a pic on the Summit site.
