Does any one know how the luggage rack slats are attached and how to remove them with out breaking any thing?

Hey flash041:

The chrome slats are attached to a galvanized slat.  You will have to carefully pry up the chrome slat from the galvanized slat.  Start at one end of the chrome slat and work your way back to the other end.  The problem is that over time (30 years) the galvanized slats have corroded to the chrome slats and it is very difficult to pry them up.  Once you get the chrome slat off the galvanized slats are attached to the roof with rivets.  You can drill them out and then remove the galvanized slats from the roof.  If you need pictures of the removed slats I can send them.

Hope this helps!
