Title: Source for Mustang II motor mounts?
Post by: Sherman on December 07, 2004, 06:10:19 PM
Hello-

It seems the consensus is to use Mustang II motor mounts in the Pinto for the V8 (in my case a 351W) swap....but does anyone know of a good source for the mounts?

I'm guessing the aftermarket (if there is one) is obscenely expensive, and I don't see a lot of Mustang II's in the boneyard...so where did you swappers source yours?

Thanks
Paul

Try Ebay, there are a few on there from time to time.  Other than that, post on the Mustang II parts section on Stangnet.com.  Someone may have a set lying around.  Good luck!

Hi Tigger-

Yeah, found a guy on Ebay, I asked him what his reserve was, he said $100. Owie!!

OK, at least i know what price range I'm dealing with...man, that's like a third of the cost of the damned CAR I'm swapping into!

Motor plates are looking better and better!!
Title: How about Maverick mounts?

Has anyone considered or tried using 302 Maverick mounts for a 351 swap? They're available new for $25 through NAPA and appear similar to the Mustang II mounts...

Any thoughts?

BTW: The mount brackets are not a direct bolt in either.  I have a pair of MII brackets that sold on ebay, but the guy never paid. Let me know if you need them. #4512298977
