Title: Badwaterbob - daughter's "almost" Pinto
Post by: Wittsend on January 03, 2010, 12:04:57 AM
Hey, Badwaterbob, I tried to send you a PM, but it never showed as going out in my Sent box.  So, I'll just post to the forum.

Sorry to hear your daughter didn't get the white, '73 Pinto wagon.  I can just imagine how disappointed she must be after the effort to get the funds.

I met that guy in a wrecking yard about a year ago.  He seemed interested in what I might have left over from my turbo conversion and gave me his card.  About a week later I assessed what I had and gave him a call. He was enthusiasic to buy my 2.0 motor and auto trans. We set a price and a date.  That Saturday came..., and went - while I waited at home all day for him.  I called him again (twice) and he never replied after I left messages.

In the yard he seemed like a nice guy.  But after my experience, and then seeing your post this evening, not following through seems to be a trend of his. I actually had some interest in the car (It could have been my second '73 white wagon) but given my experience I didn't want to - "go there." Tell your daughter to be patient, something better will come along.  By the way, in the middle of typing a PM to you the page disappeared. When I reaccessed it your comment was gone???  Not sure why. You were polite and factual in expressing your frustration.
