Anyone aware of a power steering rack for a 73 model?
Haven't seen one in any service manuals. The '73 rack is unique to that model year only. it's the Orphan of parts availibility as the racks go. :-\

no power steering on Pinto until '74
I am gonna try and retro a 74 up on it. Thanks. I had seen that it was a 1 year only deal

You Might have a can of worms there. The Steering knuckles have different Tie rod ends on the thread and taper than the 73. The other diffs are control arm length, spacing on the frame, crossmember and maybe positions that affect Rack to travel ratios (Bumpsteer). Just a few thoughts to consider, maybe better to change the entire front suspension/crossmember.
Good Luck.

Got a 78 model Mustang II unit. Made and fitted the stubs for mounting, go it all bolted up and looks like it is gonna work great. Only thing left is steering shaft. It doesn't look like a big deal. Actually thinking about finding a column for a power steering car and using it and the shaft.
You don't need to go that far, there many company's that make shaft joints that will work. Try Speedway Motors www.speedwaymotors.com (http://www.speedwaymotors.com) look in their street rod catalog you'll find something that will work.

Thanks I buy alot from Speedway. The only problem is where the shaft attaches to the column. It has a weird attachment that is not offered by borgeson. I may just cut it off and weld in a double D.
