Renewed the rotors, pads and linings back and front. Still disapointed in the brakes.
There isn't room to fit power brakes in my custom car with 2.3 motor in it.
Are there any modern replacement calipers available that will fit into place to improve the brakes??
Thanks
If I remember right you can add larger rotors, which you can order cross drilled for better heat dissipation.

Seems a shame to have to buy new but larger rotors when I have just put new ones on.
Is there a better caliper available?
Thanks .. Fred
possibly an after market caliper might fit. usually when you up grade the rotors to say 11 inches it also includes an upgrade in the size and type of caliper. Does your car have power steering??? if so you might look into what i believe is called hydro-boost mastercylinder. it takes the power steering pressure and adds iot to the brake pressure to give you power brakes. just ahtought.

What about a different kind of brake pad? ???
There is organic, semi metallic, and ceramic. Do any of these have more "bite"??
ceramic has more bite, but wears the rotors out faster. not sure about organic, Semi-metallic seems to be the standard now.
I did buy the more pricey ceramic pads. I just want more brake power. I don't have power steering.
Thanks for the replies. Any more info on this subject would be appreciated.
Keep them coming. Fred
www.speedwaymotors.com (http://www.speedwaymotors.com) look in the street rod catalog, they have everything you want and more. Look for mustang 2 parts (same as our Pinto's) good luck.

I think that realistically you only have a few real choices.
1. mess around with the type of brake pad.
2. look to the aftermarket for a better caliper
3. Better brakes usually include bigger rotors and calipers to increase braking power. something like the 11 inch conversion.
4. what is the condition of your master cylinder? is it old and weak? make sure that your master cylinder matchs whatever you do if you are replacing calipers.
just some thoughts

Thanks for the input.
