Is there anything carbed or ignition related that would have the same idle as having "big" cam. This thing is pretty lopy at idle, sounds like my SVO with the A237 Motorsports cam. I don't think it's a vaccum problem because it doesn't stall or hesitate when I hit the gas and has smooth accelleration. The valve cover has definately been off , I can tell because of the gallon of orange RTV ozing out of the cover. Man I wish this thing wasn't in such bad shape, I actually enjoy drivng it.
Oh please tell me your a237 cam lopes. This has been the only car I've ever owned as a hot rod that ran smooth and it's boring to listen to. I've seen thats a popular cam swap for the turbo 2.3, maybe I'll get one.
I can't tell you how many times I've been at a traffic light and people comment on how the Mustang sounds. Then when I'll tell them it's only a 4 cyl. they can't believe it. My exhaust dumps right before the axle.

I like the part where it dumps before the axle.

You would brad LMAO ;D
Mine used to dump before the axle bu I noticed my teeth were wearing out.
So my exhaust used to dump in front of the axle with a thrush, but the county sherrif wasn't down with the dumpin', so I cut it off and put a dynomax race bullet and a supertrapp on the end. Now I just make my floor really hot near the backseat. I once had rubber floor mats back there, but they melted on the way home from the strip. oops. That was a few races before I wiped out a cam. I ended up with three cyl on the way back. Talk about a "lumpy" idle!
