Do the headliner before the paint job! :hangover:
I know what your saying im so gagged i think i might repaint while the winders are out. :-\
Hmmm, I would say, Paint, headliner, windows! That is how I will be doing mine! The windows have to come out to tuck the headliner under the moldings.
What happened?
with windows out you can clean and paint under seals. if you paint then remove seals you have paint line that you have to cover back up with the seals if you can. plus you risk pulling paint off with the seals. would be a much better paint job with winders out.

That is what I meant. I would take the windows out, paint the car, then install the headliner and re install the windows!! ;D
I'm having headliner installed early next week. But in doing some research, I should have had it done prior to paint. I shopped the hell out the the local upolstery guys. Stopped in this afternoon & looked at all my seats....I got what I paid for, but they will be fine....I guess. This is the same shop that says he can do the headliner. He says it's no problem & won't have to pop the windows.... I'm going to have to have a talk with him before I give him the headliner job.... :nocool:
let me know how that works out. i have heard people trying that but after driving with the windows down it pulls the liner out of the seals, dont know for sure would love to try it myself
Your right David, it won't hold. The headliner needs to be wrapped over the seam. I would bite the bullet and pull the glass and do it right.
Barrett-Jackson will be in Scottsdale in a few weeks. I think I'll go real early on Saturday, park way up at the front of the lot & stay all day. I'm bound to get some offers!
On my car all the windows ,handles ,locks, lights ect where off the car then it was walnut shelled primer , paint,,, then the interior roof,, then glass then all new rubber seals,, and then the front end lights and air dam and bumpers reinstalled then carpet and seats

Don`t let him do it!!!!!!!The windows they need to be out and it has to be hot when its installed as well , you need to find a old school guy to do that...and if they do it make sure they leave the screws in the roof for the hardware so you can relocate the holes easy they took them out on me and i had to find them myself this was not fun and very scarey to do on a new interior roof,,with windows installed as well......

Agreed.
I worked in an upholstery shop last winter and my boss told me I
needed to take the windows out before installing the headliner, just tucking it into the seals won't hold.
