Title: Charging problems
Post by: svoman2300 on November 28, 2004, 12:24:09 PM
On my 79 Pinto wagon I have a charging problem I swapped out the alternator and voltage regualtor with the ones from my Mustang which were working fine when I pulled them out. According to this website http://www.theeren.net/articles/Tech%20Basics2_2003_6.pdf I should have power at the "I" terminal of my regulator when KOEO, well I don't. Does anybody know where the fuse is for this circuit. I don't feel like cutting up the wire harness to trace it.
Thanks
Rick

Problem is fixed. I think I had a bad ground at the voltage regulator which caused the old one and the second one to short out. I cleaned all connections and ran a ground from the new VR to the alt. and it is now charging.
