Title: 5- bolt rotors for pinto?????
Post by: twinturbo76 on December 11, 2009, 09:32:53 PM
I read on this site that SPEEDWAY has a 5-bolt mustang II rotor that will work on a pinto.Mine is a 76 and is there any other mods you have to do to make them fit. Will the rotor make my rim sick out further or does the rotor have to be turned down to fit.I have 15 inch welds on them now but I want to put a 15 inch american racing front runner rims and only come in 5 lug the one I want.My back rims are already 5 lugs.

instead of editing I thought i would just get the info and post again. here is what you need http://www.speedwaymotors.com/10-Hybrid-Rotor-and-Parts-for-Pinto,6492.html (http://www.speedwaymotors.com/10-Hybrid-Rotor-and-Parts-for-Pinto,6492.html) That is the rotor you wanted to know about right? its a direct fit. No need to upgrade anything hardware wise other then the rotor and perhaps new bearings. Hope this helps

I don't want to seem to be a wet blanket but did you read this is the same add???
This rotor is designed for dirt track applications and should NOT be used for asphalt racing.  the question i have is why????

I think you would be happier using the following part number 910-31001 or if you are using agm bolt pattern 910-31002. these are listedat $29.99 each.  there is also a bearibg and seal kit $13.99.  It is in the street rod catalog.

To tell the truth I really don't know but if they go to point of putting it in there I think it should be a cause for thought as we drive on asphalt and if there is a problem i wouldn't take the chance.

With the other rotors in the street rod part it is made for the street. if I didn't already have the rims i want i would be changing over both my front and back to 5 lug.  You know actually as i sit here thinking about it I wouldn't change it over because it is a N/a motor and with disc and drums in good shape i think i will leave what i have and spend the money on other things.

good luck and let me know what you decide.

I bought a set from speedway for my 76 because i wanted to use american wheels too and the price was right. since then i have seen new ones on ebay for not a whole lot more money that are slotted, drilled and dont look new as generic as mine.
