Title: Neutral Safety Switch
Post by: entropy on December 11, 2009, 09:25:01 PM
I was reading up on the track rules for the local 1/8th mile strip and noticed that they require a functional neutral safety switch on all cars.  My SBF/t5 conversion 1972 Runabout has no such thing.  Rather than hoping they'll overlook that, I'm looking into wiring one.  Anybody ever done that? Advice?

I think you need one only if it is a auto trans.I ran a 4 speed for 20 years before going to auto C4 and with my 4 speed was never ask for neutral safety switch only a shut off switch for the power, but with my C4 they check and it is a must.

I was actually hoping that was the case.  The idea of a mandatory neutral safety switch on a manual trans seemed a bit ridiculous to me.  Thanks for the info!

On an unrelated note.....wow....holy crap your car is a monster!  I look forward to seeing further photos and info about it.
