FYI, the February 2010 issue of Hot Rod magazine has an article stating that Ford Racing is working on producing a replacement block for the Ford Kent engine due sometime in 2010. They are doing this mainly for the Formula Ford racing crowd. The article quotes Ford Racing as saying: "We are going to take our knowledge of modern techniques to remanufacture the Kent block and improve its durability. Our aim is not to make performance gains but to strengthen it to make the unit more reliable."
The Question will be: Will they produce enough racing Blocks to help us with our Kent motor needs? Think Pinto, Cortina, Escort, Lotus and a host of Kit cars. This announcement is also in Response to the SCCA approving the Honda Fit 1.5L motor for a Formula that replaces Formula Ford.
I hope the trickle down helps out!!
