OK guys, I have come acrossed a 1987 Turbo T-Bird for 200.00 dollars. it is supposed to still have the rearend with disk brakes and the t-5 tranny. Is this worth my effort??? I am not sure if i want to go turbo on my project car.
Is the rearend out of the t-bird a different width? or can I just salvage the brake setup and move on...?
What should I look for?
I think I paid 280.00 for my wrecked '88 Turbo Coupe, pulled the motor and trans, parted out bits and pieces of the car on ebay and paid about 80.00 to have the heap towed to the wrecking yard with the rear. The result.... a complete motor, trans, wiring harness and leather power seats (that are now in my truck) and I'm only in the hole about 100.00. If it had anything shiney, I would have kept that to.
I paid 200.00 for my 88 T/C. Used engine, T5, computer, VAM and other parts related on my Pinto. Used the front seats in my truck(see web site) and the wheels on my 87 GT stang, now sold. Sold from the bird was the hood...75 bucks, front nose 75 bucks, tail lights 50 bucks, fan set-up 20 bucks, and the rear end for $350.00. So, I got a FREE turbo engine with T5 and MADE money on the rest. ;D
