Title: Junk Yard Alert!
Post by: blupinto on December 02, 2009, 03:14:03 PM
To those of you who live in Southern California...

At Ecology Auto Wrecking in Bloomington Cali there was a '74 Runabout, a '77 wagon and an '80 Squire (in pretty good condition). These cars weren't stripped yet and there's lots of goodies left (as of Black Friday). The Runabout is white with Saddle interior (sob). I wanted to get the radio bezel, the gauge cluster (couldn't get it out), and the Squire's two remaining forged aluminum wheels (waaaaahhhh!!!) The Runabout has the deluxe interior option but because the armrests failed a while ago there are, ah, alternative door pulls in place, which left the panels a little cut up. The '77 has rust and lack of paint issues but at one time it was metallic blue and had some intriguing body striping much like a Cruising Wagon. The emblems were naturally missing but not much else is. Sadly $20 doesn't get much at the junkyard anymore.  :'(

Get off the 10 ar Riverside Avenue and go L if you're going W on the 10. I don't recall the street name but you pass Slover (I worked at the CalTrans yard there for a year and a half) but you'll make another L just before a little rise. Ecology is on the R side of that road, surrounded by a beige brick wall. Pick me up and I'll direct you, and even help get parts.  ;D
