'76 Pinto MPG wags 2.3 4sp Factory A/C P/S
Parked in '91 after a power co. truck hit it on the L/F. The PO bought a pair of fenders and a bumper, but didn't get far with the repairs as he bought a Ranger with the settlement.
Plans are to convert to small bumpers, Cruzin waggin panels, and put the XR4Ti Lima I've got to good use. This is the 5th or 6th Pinto I've owned.

From the looks of the grille, I doubt he does! But you never know!! ;D
Good luck on your project Mike!! Looks like it will be a fun one!!!
CB the question is does he still need that piece. It won't hurt to ask though.
Mikeystoy:
Best wishes on your effort, I picked up a '76 MPG wagon in June of '08 and am still hard at tearing it down. It's a fun project, lots of work. If you have questions, ask away - I have been far enough into mine I could probably help you with any odd things you might need to know.
Chris
My grille is shot; I may fab one from scratch, I'm not sure yet.
I dinked with it for about an hour or so last night. There were a pair of new caps and a new Motorcraft wire set in the back as well as a full set of used lifters. I think the new ones are in the engine.....
I almost got it to start; the Bendix is bad kicking the starter out as the engine catches. I Have an '84 XR7 I will pull the starter from.
IT LIVES!!!!!
Starter go it to fire; the fuel pump is pissing, there's a ton of blow-by and smoke. I don't think it was like that when it was parked, the plugs and exhaust were too clean. Hopefully it's just a stuck ring.....
My goal is to get it roadworthy (brakes, 8" swap, pass floor, fenders) the swap in the turbo 2.3.
YAY!!! You got her through the hard part... running... hopefully the rest will be a piece of cake! There's fight in that lil' wagon yet! ;D

Looks like a good project there! Keep us posted on the updates ;D
I got the seats and carpet torn out this morning; 3 of the footwells are good, front pass floor is horrible, but easier to fix than my '64 Dart.....
Just hanging the fenders on it made a world of difference.

Mike: I have a grille from a 1971 Pinto which is still good. I think it just had a little chip out of it. I also have front seats minus the rails, from a 1978 Ford Pinto. They are in good shape, just need either recovered, or minor repairs. The seats are currently black, and the vinyl on both are mostly good. I think it was just a side panel in the driver's seat that was torn from wear. The insets are cloth, kinda like an Indian Print in a stripe which runs horizontal. If it were me, I'd want those panels replaced with either vinyl or the original fabric, as they are faded and worn. But both seats are still completely usable as is. Anyway, I will give you the seats and grille if you need them, if you'd pay shipping. I don't know what it'd cost to ship the grille, probably minimal, but the seats could be around $50.00 or so a piece. Anyway, they're yours if you want, just let me know. I'm sure the name may fit now, but I know it'll be a precious gem once you've completed it. Good luck!!!!!! Larry :police:
Well; I drove it today. I rigged up a small tank in the spare well with an electric pump. Still has the blow-by and miss, plus; all the crap I put in the engine to "loosen" up any stuck ring is making a mess of the atmosphere.....
I drove it from the back yard, down the alley, around the block, and into the carport.
It's going to sit for a little while until I get the Scout up and driving; I need it for the winter.....
