Title: center console for a Pinto
Post by: r4pinto on November 09, 2004, 08:05:00 PM
Hey all, I'm looking for a center floor console for my Ford Pinto to fillin the big vod between the front seats, and was wondering what kind of car can I grab a console out of that will fit with little modifying? I got one out of a 83 Mustang LX, but I've had to modify the crap out of it, and it'still not fitting right.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. :)

Mustang II consoles fit with very little modification. The relationship between the shifter opening and the park brake opening is the same as the Pinto. Try to get the mounting brackets for it if you can. It makes installation a little easier.

Earlier this year, I looked at a parts car that had a full console from a Mustang II installed.  It looked pretty good. I am not sure what all was done to get it to fit.

Cool. I found one on Ebay real cheap, so I'll grab that one if I can. As for the brackets, I'll fabricate some if I need to.

Thanx. You guys are great on helpful info. ;D

HMMMMM I put a console out of an '85 Stang into a StangII with just minor mods. I wonder why it didn't fit in a Pinto?

I'm using a counsol that is made from the front half of a 83 mustang and the back half from a Xr4ti. It took some time and cutting but it looks like it came with the car.
