My uncle told me about a pinto his friend has who lives about 8 miles from me. Said it was a small bumper brown runabout. So today i went to go look at it...
The fellow told me it was a 72 with no rust and ran great. So great in fact that the people drove it over to the crusher. It was crushed and then loaded it up on the truck. :(
So, a nice pinto bites the dust because i didn't get there 30 min earlier. I even passed the truck with it in the back.
So we talk for a little while and the fellow tells me that they can't crush em with the wheels and that it had aluminum wheels on it. He takes me over to a pile of tires where I find 4 nice aluminum slots with centercaps. Asked him how much he wanted for them. total price: $0.00!
So I guess there is a silver lining to every cloud.

That's really heart-breaking. I live in southern indiana. Out here every car older than 1993 has lots of rust holes and deterioration, i dream to find my DREAM PINTO out there in Arizona, I can't wait for the trip out west to get the lucky one!
