Okay, so this isn't much of a project, but I kind of wanted a simple easy no-brainer thing to do after the big air conditioning hassle went two months and three times over budget. Which, BTW, still isn't over until the WOT relay sings.
Anyway, '80s kitsch mud flaps on Wee Beastie which, with those portholes is about '70s kitsch as you can get. But this puny pony is a bit chimeric. I'm probably one of the few people that associate Pintos more with the '80s than with the '70s because I had an '80 MPG Pony from new until '92. Now, I just need some New Wave and Noise Band Mix Tapes to cruise around to. Plus the '80s thought that magenta and chartreuse were complimentary colors that way that the '70s thought that avocado and orange were complimentary colors.
As a bonus afternoon project, I made a couple of wire spool holders. Will make up some tidier dowels later.
DUDE (and I mean that with the utmost respect), mud flaps were the thang, yo, for a true 70's look. :afro: I had them on both my '77 sedan and my '79 wagon, they were cool enough. Now, curb feelers and fur covered steering wheels, well, that was a whole different message. :nocool:
PS - impressive word usage (chimeric), 10 bonus points. I laughed on that one! Good, creative use of free time, another 5 bonus points.

Said like a true '70s guy. ::) :o ;D I think he was going for something like "Awesome! Radical! Totally! Righteous, Dude! Excellent! :D Did I miss any? ;D
Those are more '80s.
When I was in junior high, when Watergate was going on, we had Cool and Decent. Of course they were pronounced Kaaaaaayyyyyoooooueeellll! and Daayeeeeeeeceeeeyaaant! When I was in high school, when Disco was going on, we had Boogies, Cherry, Peached, Pooched, and Smokingest! (as in burning a lot of rubber). ;D
But I wouldn't be surprised if the slang varied depending in what school you went to, or even what clique you hung with in that school.
nice mud flaps i had a set just like those on a car in the late 80's
