Anyone ever seen a Pinto with no radio from the factory? I just bought a 1977 Runabout w/ manual trans-2.3, which I will probably part out; as I was looking it over, I noticed that there is no antenna hole on the right fender where it would normally be. Inside, there is a black plastic 'cubby hole' where the radio goes. Wierd! Its amazing that over all those years, nobody hacked a radio or stereo in it! Personally, I would not like to drive a car without a radio.

My '72 not only has no radio (never has), it still has the Ford-installed plate over the hole in the dash where it normally would be!

Bragger! lol.
My 74 Hatchback has the radio delete option as well, with the form fitting metal plate over the recess where the radio would normally sit. It's the only one I've personally encountered this way.

'''The wheels on the Pinto go round and round, round and round......'''''' LOL
I have never seen a Pinto without a radio. Mine have either had stock am radios or aftermarket radios with the dash plate cut to allow it to go in. Now I have enough of both types of radio bezels with stock and cut outs, that now I can just swap them if I want a stock look or a new tech look! LOL
Could I see a picture of the radio delete plate. Might even trade fr one of my radio bezels??

This is all correct. There should have been a 'chrome' plastic rectangular cover that tapes over the antenna hole on the fender.
When i put a radio in mine 20+ years ago, I slipped it into that black cubby hole and ran the wires through a hole I drilled in it.
I broke it about 10 years ago during a radio replacement, SO if you want to sell the cubby hole, please let me know.
And yes, i cannot see who can NOT have a radio for so many years. Is it a low mileage car?
