My old inner tierod cracked in two. I've ordered the new part, but I was wondering if I needed to buy a tie rod removal tool to get the old one off?Thanks

It shouldn't take anything special to do the job. If the tie rods have never been replaced before, you might find a hole with a locking pin somewhere around the end that the lock nut jams up against. The pin will need to be drilled out so the tie rod end will unscrew from the end of the rack. If there is not a lock pin drilled into it, the removal is relatively simple, just loosen the jam nut and unscrew the old inner tie rod off of the rack. Be sure to lube the new one with grease before you do the install, and make sure you put it back together correctly as there is a spring and cup that ride against the ball on the end of the tie rod. Torque properly and then have the front checked for alignment after you are done. It isn't a real complicated job, just make sure to do it right, as your steering depends on it. Also make sure the new end rotates without binding after installation before you connect it to the outer end and spindle. :drunk:
