For a 76 Pinto, I need a full set of headliner bows. Also need the cardboard / fiberboard parts that go under the carpet where the carpet covers over the door sills / rocker panels. These parts keep the carpet off the sharp edges of the door sills. Also need a complete speedodometer cable for a 76 Pinto. Thanks DICK
Hey Dick, I am not sure what you are talking about but from what you describe some of that MDF at Lowes etc might work mighten it?
What are headliner bows exactly? The car im parting out has a spedometer cable.
Bows are the wire parts that hod the headliner in place. Their about .080 in dia and 4 foot long. I think theres 4 in the headliner. The fiber board parts I need are under the very outside edge of the carpet at each door. They are under the carpet. They protect the carpet from the sharp edges of the door sill. They are aprox 4" wide and 3 foot long. See what you've got. DICK
The bows are behind the seams in the stock headliner. ANY bows from any pinto/bobcat coupe/runabout will work. On mine I used 1/4"mdf & made a headliner shell. from there I covered it with batting & fabric for a later model look.
Those "cardboard" pieces may be difficult to come by, but they are just a thick card stock. You may be able to "laminate" posterboard to make new ones. Especially seeng that that stuff is REALLY tough to get at & remove in one piece. However, a good carpet set should have enough strength to hold up in this area without any help.
GOT THEM, BUT I CAN"T DELETE THIS. SORRY.
