Hey everybody,
I bought my pinto a few years ago and it didn't run. i rebuild the motor and had it going but it has always run bad. i figured i would get a new carb so i bought one that is the same one on my car. however i just found out that the carb on the car was for the wrong year it is for up to 1976 models i think because it has coolant regulated choke. i think i need electronically controlled choke. i think i can just switch out the coolant style choke with the electric type.
Does anyone have feed back or where i could just by the right choke assembly for my 1980 pinto??
Help would be great thanks
i drive an 80 coupe and am using an aftermarket weber carb but i have a manual choke which is controlled by a small lever sort of by the dash with a cable going straight to the carb im not sure if its stock but it looks like it but its really simple and if you can get your hands on one i would recommend
I can safely tell you, yes you can swap out the coolant controlled choke with the electric choke. I did exactly that on my 77.
