Title: Another Marine joins God's Army
Post by: Carolina Boy on October 06, 2009, 05:54:59 PM
My Great- Nephew, Corporal Mitchel A. Gibbs, 20 yrs old, was lost Friday evening after an accident with a school bus, near his home, on the way to his base. Eye witnesses have said before impact, he was seen throwing himself over his wife to shield her. He took the worst of the impact. She survived with only minor injuries due to Mitchel's quick action. I will miss him terribly.

The Marines at his base have been wonderful to my family. He will be laid to rest in Burlington, NC this Friday at 2:45pm.

Say a prayer for my family, This is the third soldier from this family.

This is a very sad irony. These young men in duty put their lives on the line, in harms' way, and are spared only to suffer tragic consequences in unnecessary and tragic accidents. How terrible! May God bless his family in this time of need. I am sorry for your loss.
