Title: Parting out 1974 Bobcat Sedan
Post by: Jesse on November 01, 2004, 12:06:48 PM
I have a 74 bobcat that i originally wanted to put on the road but the frame and floor are rusted so badly that it would definately be not worth doing.  It has 2 good fenders, 1 is fiberglass, the other is original with little rust on it.  All the glass is good.  Original rims & hubcaps, great running motor, transmission, and rear end  with only 37000 miles (the car wasnt driven much, but it sat in the grass and seen a lot of canadian winters i guess).  I sold the taillights already but i have a couple of Pinto tailights i found in the woods (they are in pretty good shape!).  The interior is pretty good (its a weird lime color), front and back seats have no rips, AM radio and original speakers work nicely.  The gas tank is only about 2 years old.  All the chrome lettering (MERCURY written on the trunk, 2 BOBCAT labels on both sides)

Just tell me the part you need, and well work out a price and method of shipping.  I am located in prince edward island, canada.

How does the steering wheel look?  If its in decent shape can you get me a pic?  I'm pretty sure the green you're talking about matches my 73, but I wanna make sure.  Thanks.

Does it have the small Bobcat badge on the dash above the glove box?  I'd be interested in that.

Bill in WV

We car guys aren't afraid of "cannibalism". Cars as a general rule eat thier dead. A car will gladly pull in a dead parts car. then beg it's pet human to strip down the carcass, save the best stuff, and put them on. As pets go we're awful good for our cars. We wash our masters, We fix them, and we tend to thier every need. Don't think cars don't talk behind our back either. "My dumb human, he got a new job thinking he's going to get a newer master, well I've got news for him, that crank bearing i've been complaining about, well it's gonna go out on the way home today!"

Anyone else think I've spent a few too many hours in a closed garage working on cars?

I could use the drivers side door hinges if they are in good condition.
And
The drivers side rear brake drum and drivers front brake rotor (again if in good condition).
I'm working on a 1975 Pinto.

Thanks!

Door hinges-- check.  They work good and are in good shape

As for the brake parts ill have to take off the wheels and take a look.  I know the brakes work pretty good, and i was told they were all new when i bought the car (about a year ago)  Ill get back to you in a day or two when i get everything taken apart.

I already sold the dome light cover, but the seatbelt, ebrake assembly, and the sun visor are all pretty good.  You can email me at noggins_1500@hotmail.com if you want.  Ill need to wait for a day when its not really wet outside to take some of the stuff off.
