Title: Hatch seal?
Post by: Mutant pony on September 12, 2009, 08:32:49 PM
I'm in the process of sub-framing a '77 runabout. A rear hatch seal is completely shot and when the car sits out in the rain the spare tire hole fills with water.
Where can I get a new seal?

Ford Focus 2 door door seal. Only the 2 door. The 4 door seal is too short. Not the hatch seal, the doors only. I have this seal on both of my hatchbacks and they look perfect on them and they do not leak. They fit the wagon too.

Hey Alberto!

Dumb question, but what year Focus? I would think it might matter, but maybe it doesn't. I need one of these as well.

Thanks,
Dave

I used JC Whitney's universal hatch gasket and it works great. Fits amazingly with no leaks. And it only cost 25 or 30 bucks. i cant remember. anyways it's WAY cheaper than autokrafters. It even has silicone already inside it so all you have to do is tap it on with a rubber mallet.

Original 74! Whats up! Email me your cell! I have been dying to talk to you! Well, as for the year of focus, it really doesn't matter. Its the first gen body style and not the current one that is on sale. They work perfect! Every wagon and hatchback that I or any one that I know owns has this seal. They do not leak a drop.

bbobcat75, door gaskets can be purchased through GreenSales

http://www.greensalescompany.com/ (http://www.greensalescompany.com/)

and SHOULD be purchased there. They were the company that commissioned them to be made. They are also the company that had the belt-lines and the window gaskets made. They are about $85 and are wonderful. You can save 5 dollars is you are a cheapo and buy them on ebay but then you are shooting yourself in the foot. The more they sell, the more parts for the Pinto they will have made. GreenSales has made the a high quality product that some feel are to pricey and want to have another company make other cheap seals. I tell everyone to buy from GreenSales if you want all the gaskets made out of quality, Dennis Carpenter part. If you want cheap crap and make Pintos to look like what people think pintos should look like, buy some crap.

Same seal. There is no difference between the framed and all glass hatch seal.
