So as i'm learning...the leavesprings on mine (75 runabout v6) are a bit longer than the ones from the earlier pintos.. I am going to go to the old bumpers and valance...I have seen that the valance will need to be notched for the leaves...Here's the actual questions... To eliminate the need to do that, could I just do a older leafpack? What would be needed if so, shackles? etc? And i'm assuming that I will need to make bumper brackets as well, not the end of the world, just wondering? and yes i did a search, but couldn't really find that answer....
thanks,
Don

I've been wondering the same thing. I've been thinking of doing that to my 74.

i was going to go with the early bumpers and, when i found the problem with the rear having no valance and exposed shackles, i decided to just tuck the bumpers instead. i shortened the mounts by 3.5" in front and 3" in the rear and i love the way it looks now.
Yeah I thought about that but I found a place that offers aftermarket fiberglass rear valances so I figured I'd run those and the fiberglass bumpers too. I'm ok with the extra work. I just need to know what I need to do? I might be just trying different things if nobody knows. We will see. It sure would be nice though if someone has successfully done this. I'm assusing that somebody has?
