I cant help but notice the red car in the big site headline pics. It has custom pop out windows and i'd really like to know whos car that is and how they did it. it's a really cool idea!
If it is the pic with the line of Pinto's going down the road and is the second red Pinto in the pic. I don't think it is a custom job. They make Pinto's with pop out windows stock! I have 2!!!
I would say if you want pop out windows, then I would talk to Fred Morgan on this site, about seeing if he had some early windows and rubbers. The early one's are held on by pop rivots!
I hope this helps!!
wow thanx, i didnt know that. im puttin a sunroof in my 74 and the pop out windows would be a nice addition to that. haha geuss u do learn something new everyday.
All three Pintos I've ever had have/had pop-out quarter windows. Of course one is a wagon... the funny thing is my late great '72 had three "buttons" on the outside of her windows and my current one, a '74, has but one. I love 'em! ;D
No pop-outs on my plain-Jane '74. But then again very few options. AM radio and thin bodyside moulding (rub strips). Not sure if the wide chrome moulding around these fixed back windows was standard or optional. No other options as far as I can tell. There is even a little plug where the cigarette lighter (known today as "the socket to plug in your phone or GPS") should be. Even the seatbelts are plain black, no colour-coordination.

> Same as on my '74. Sounds like our pinto's have the same options or are close. I need to make a trip back to the junkyard to see if I can find any with pop-out windows. Before I started this post I didn't even know that they could come stock on a pinto!

I assume you are a west coaster because there sure as heck are not ANY pintos in bone yards around me. My 73 does not have them either, or any other options besides the 2.0 litre and automatic. Why it even has carpet i do not know, but i do KNOW the chrome trim is different between the two styles. I want the chrome trim and wheel moldings for my Pinto now. crossy
Actually crossy, im a Michigander. My pinto is originally from Los Angeles were it was sold and eventually found it's way all the over to Michigan. I found it with virtually no rust. And about the Junkyard, theres actually a place about 15 miles from me that has about 20 pintos. And a lot of Mustang II's also.
Jwise where are you in MI?

I'm about 45 minutes northeast of Grand Rapids. In Sheridan. Little middle of nowhere kind of place. Why are you a Michigander yourself?

(clasps head) AAAAAAAAAAGHHH!!! I want that junkyard!!! lol.
lol, I've only been there twice so haven't really scanned it that hard yet. And the only thing I've bought is a Grill for my '74. It cost 40 bucks. I think thats pretty good considering what they go for on ebay. But the best part of it all is that im pretty sure I'm the only person who actually needs parts off them! ;D
Wow, Pintos in a junk yard? That has to be like turning back time. I have never seen a pinto in a junk yard, and I go to a lot. I live near the Motor City and they turn around a lot of cars in them here. I sure would be interested in knowing where this junk yard is as I am always looking for parts for the cars that I have. Could be the making of a wonderful road trip.
