Title: The Pinto Hauler!
Post by: pintogirl on August 29, 2009, 01:28:55 PM
I hope it is ok that I post a thread in here not so much based on a Pinto, but based on a vehicle that I will use to haul them as I buy them!! If not, maybe a Mod can move it!!  ;D

I thought that I would start sharing the progress on the Pinto Hauler with you all! Sad to say though, I didn't really start off to good with the pics. I did find a pic that kinda shows what it looked like before! It is the truck behind the Pintos!

Here's the motor that's going in it!!

What it currently looks like.

What we have done so far is, taken the front clip off to make it easier to do the motor swap. Going from a Diesel motor to a gas. Hubby figures it would be easier for me to do stuff on the gas motor by myself via talking to him on the phone (if I break down somewhere)! We swapped the doors with manual windows to doors with electric windows and locks. They have brown panels on them so we switched the original blue dash for the brown one in the pics. We also added a/c to a non a/c truck!! So that will make it nice in the summer!!

As of right now we are waiting on the tranny to get finished being gone through. Once it gets back we can put the motor and trans in, then finish getting the motor all put back together. Once it is running, we will put the front clip back on, and strip all the lights and such off of everything. Then we will send it to the paint shop!!

I will take pics as things progress and update the thread as it goes along!!

It's a slide bed tow truck! I will try to get pics of the bed later, but we kinda have it in a tight area for picture taking!!

That's really cool Kim! It's fitting that it's a Ford truck hauling Ford Pintos.  ;D Now the question we're (me myself and I anyway!) are asking: How many Pintos can you haul at one time on this truck?  ;D

Although I will most likely only get one at at time if I am by myself! LOL

Did you all know that a flat bed truck is supposed to go through the truck scales? All tow trucks are supposed to go through them too! YUCK! LOL

On another note, Shaggy is going to have to wait until the PH is done!  >:( LOL

Why?

The PH is in the spot Shaggie needs to go to start doing some of the work that needs to be done! I guess I should have said that I "will" be doing minor things to Shaggie in the mean time!! LOL  ;D
