Hey all,
recently I've been trying to getr my car somewhat driveable, even though the motor's toast. Anyways, after trying a certain engine additive, the car now will rev, but idles crappy once the engine warms up. If I hold the gas pedal the car will run, but if I release it the car stalls and has trouble getting started. I know the engine needs a severe overhaul since it's blowing smoke everywhere, but I need to get the car atleast idling right.
How do I do this? I've never dealt with carbs before, so it's all greek to me.
Hi...well just to let you know..I know enough about carbs to make me dangerous..lol..but anyways a good site that helped me ..Carburetor Tuning the Scientific Way...this site explains ..also he referred me to the FordPinto site..another site I used Carbs Unlimited they have a trouble shooting guide...good luck :)
Try adjusting you timing a smidge, It did wonders for my wagon ;D
check for vacuum leaks and loose attachment bolts.
