...or so it seems.
My '76 wagon (original Texas car) is brown.
Rob's (78TXPony) '78 sedan (original Texas car) is brown.
There is a '75 wagon now on Dallas Craigslist that he and I are going to look at this weekend - you guessed it - brown.
There is an '80 sedan now on Dallas Craigslist - yup, brown.
Did I mention the '78 woody wagon now on Dallas Craigslist? Brown.
What gives? Did Ford send ALL the brown painted Pintos to Texas? All five of these vehicles are within an 80 mile radius. How strange.
Chris
Maybe they're trying to organize a brown Pinto convention... ::) lol. Are they all root beer brown or various shades of brown? Do tell about the '75 woodie! ;D

Hey, mine's in Virginia but it's brown too - at least for now! To be repainted orange someday!

The woodie is a '78, it's a darker brown than the "metallic brown" all the others are. It's in pretty bad shape, but only $500. If you have time, look at Craigslist/Dallas, TX, and punch in "Pinto" - it will come up in the listings. It is in "Caddo Mills", which is about 25 miles outside of Dallas, out in the country.

When my mom bought our 78 pony, her neighbors 4 houses down had a 76 wagon just like Chris's. Yup, it was brown also.
They had that wagon a LONG time, I think even when they moved away long ago.
My 78 Pony is "medium chestnut metallic" and actually still holds a shine despite being original paint. Turtle wax over the years must have done something good to it... ;)
Well, Chris, it's hot and dry here. If the wind blows for a few minutes, my white Pinto turns brown!
Chuck :afro:
Chuck:
That would be called "environmental brown", not "factory brown".
I used to own a white '79 wagon which I kept impeccably clean. I worked night shift outside of Philadelphia for a year, in a clinical lab. The lab was right beside the freeway. It >always< amazed me how I could come out in the mornings and wipe off all the fine, but very apparent, black exhaust soot from the freeway nearby!!
Chris
Heck I live in South Texas no rain to speak of in over 2 years--EVERYTHING DOWN HERE IS BROWN - My Ford Focus ZTS is green but it is starting to turn brown around the headlights LOL
