im buying a new head for my 80pinto. it has the stock 2.3l in it and i found a head on ebay (Ford 2.3L HSC 1984-86 Tempo and Topaz Heart Shape Chamber Casting # E43E) will this head bolt right up to my stock engine?
No it will not.Different engine all together.
The Topaz/Tempo 2.3 is an overhead valve front wheel drive engine, and no where remotely close to the overhead cam rear wheel drive pinto 2.3.
What's the problem with the head on the car?
the valve guides are going bad so im replacing the head and cam in it and was looking for a cheep remand head...one at auto zone is $300 witch is more than i can afford
wouldn't it be cheaper to just have the valve Guides replaced?
Hey flyboy1,Where are you located.I may have what you need.
i live in Tennessee about 10miles from the Kentucky state line
I had the head on my 74 rebuilt, cost me $275 including a new complete head gasket set with all the gaskets i needed for the install. I think they just knurled the valve guides tho instead of replacing them. Id rather them have been replaced.
