Title: 1980 pinto with ranger roller cam swap questions

will a 1993 ranger roller cam and roller followers swap strate in to a 1980 ford pinto 2.3l head????????if a 93 wont what year ranger cam will swap in to a stock pinto????

so if i buy a cam and followers out of a 93 ford ranger thay will fit right in with the stock springs and valve stems........

Yes they will.I have been running a Ranger Came for about 6 years.

The only big difference is the width of the groove where the rocker arm slides over the valve stem. MUST match each other. I think the early arms are cast and the late one forged, but I may have that backwards.

the 93 should be the right one.  the later rollers and 2.5s ran a 7mm valve stem and the followers wont work with your valves, but the cam will.  i think the 7mm valves started in 95???

The first roller cam setup I got was from a 93 and it would not work, as it did have the 7mm valves. An older year would more than likely work. Not tto sure what years it is though.

89 to 93 stangs and 89 to 92 rangers. you can use the cams later than 93 but need the earlier roller followers because of the stem issue. the cam would be the same early or late.
