HI,
I was wondering if a 90's Ranger 2.3 engine can be used in my 74 Pinto. I was wondering if such things as the intake and exhaust manifolds and dist. will fit the 90's engine? Any known differences such as the hole for the dist? or gear inside for the dist? Any help appreciated.
Thanks
You will need to fabricate intake flange. Fred :)
the ranger engine should have a "dummy" dist in the block used to turn the oil pump. just pull the dummy out and put your distributor in. i think youll have 4 extra plugs too...cant remember if ranger or mustang started dual plug in 91. just use the ones on the exhaust side.
as fred said, the intake flange is different. exhaust are the same.
