Title: Pinto's of the Downriver Cruise (south side of the Motor city)
Post by: Starliner on June 28, 2009, 09:50:21 AM
I will post pictures of some of the Pinto's I seen at the 10th annual Downriver cruise.  This event is located just south of Detroit.  This might be a destination for a future Pinto get together!    It is a very large event, it is just a few notches below the "Woodward Dream Cruise".  Both events are the biggest in the country.
With all our economic woes in these parts, it is a great day to forget all your worries and celebrate our automotive roots.

To start...See pictures of this yellow themed Pinto

Here is Bill's super, super clean V6 Bobcat.
It's probably the only green Pinto/Bobcat that I seen that looks good.
He was a clay modeler for Ford working on all the new models.

Starliner, those are great pix. Thank you!

My next car will be, dog-willing- a Mustang II. I didn't see a one MII at Knott's so I think they're more scarce even than the Pinto. What was your wife's MII- a Ghia, fastback, Cobra II, etc. ? The one I want is this '74 Ghia a couple miles from me. Medium brown with white vinyl-top.

She just had a plain trunk version with a 2.3 and 4 speed.   It was brown.
She don't want a fastback or vinyl top.  It must be a stick.

After I fix the oil leaks I will sell her Pinto.
I will look for a super low mileage original.
To make me happy I will probably get the lowered spindles and some nice wheels.
She will just drive it in good weather.

In bad weather she will drive the Audi wagon.

BTW, I did not make this video of the Downriver cruise.   It was way better in person.

The other big cruise is August 15th, the WOODWARD DREAM CRUISE!  :fastcar:
If you are in one of the neighboring states of Michigan, it is worth the trip.

I will miss this event since I will be in out of the country on business.

I am so sorry I missed the Downriver Cruise, but I will be at the Michigan Avenue Cruise on July 11. I will be on the look-out for other Pintos. Also coming up is the Telegraph Cruise. Boy I sure love this time of Year!!!
