I need help put the t-9 in my 80 pinto but the trany mount doesnt fit will i have to get a omunt from the merkur or make one help ???
I am putting one in a 71 and always assumed I would need to do fab work. It looks like mine just needs about a 3 inch reinforced extension off the existing mount. I was going to use a poly isolator under the trans mounting tang (don't solid bolt without give). Bottom line, you need to fabricate. A welding shop or a good muffler shop may be a start.

Hello
I dont believe we know each other. I'm a fellow Pinto owner( I have 4 to be exact). Did you sucsessfully attach a T-9 to your 2 litre? What can you tell me? I'm about ready to do it myself. I was told I may need to shorten the drive shaft and address the trans mount which is obvious. Was your conversion sucsessful? Did you take the bell housing off your 4 speed Pinto trans and put it on the T-9?
Thanks,
Brian
Hi Brian,
I wish I had better news on my T-9 trans progress. I had some life changes that put my Pinto project quickly on hold for longer than I thought. I didn't go with the original 2.0L engine so I had (and still have) a couple of battles you won't have. I went with a 1.6L from 1966 so I have some flywheel to starter issues and the pilot baring needs to be drilled/replaced as it is too narrow/small for the T-9 input shaft. All this is very fixable but became low on the life list. Things are back on track so I hope to start soon where I left off. I included a link below to my T-9 mods. You should have it a little more straight forward if still mating to a 2.0L. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
