Today hubby and I drove to Yreka CA to go scope out a Dismantler. Hubby had talked to the guy here in Sac a few weeks back and the guy said that he had some Pinto stuff along with some old car stuff!
We got there and the place was huge!!!! It took us a couple hours to look threw all the stuff! We found 4 Pinto fenders, one set was off of a 74. The other set were off of maybe a 77 or so, they had the rubber headlight bezels. We bought one of the 74 fenders and both bezels off the other fenders. The fenders were not in the best of shape, and we didn't really have room to haul them all back. We also found some doors from the same car as the 77ish car, but again didn't have the room to take them. Also a door off of the 74.
I also found a hood in excellent shape and a trunk lid in better shape then the one on the Green Machine. We did get those in the car. Also found a back hatch for a hatch back, but didn't get that!
Then there it was!!! Then there were more, and more!!!!!! We found about 8 or so tail lights for Pinto Wagons!!!!!!! All I need now is a wagon!!! LOL ;D  ;D
Gotcha didn't I?? LOL
I sure wish we would have taken a trailer, but we really didn't know what the guy had so didn't want to drag a trailer that far. We may have a friend that will be going back up there and I will try to get him to pick up the doors atleast!!!
Wow Kim, sounds like you hit the motherload there.. Do you ever come across any of the wood trim that mounts above the glove box?
Can you get me a set of the Tail lights for the wagon? Left and right in as good of shape as possible. Most I can spend is 35 + Ship tho.
I do come across the wood grain dash pieces once in a while. I sold one here a while back ago. I always look for that kinda of stuff on PnP's too!! I will let you know if I ever find some!
This Pinto find wasn't the greatest as there was no inner stuff, just a few fenders and doors. Well, and all the tail lights! LOL
75bobcatv6, Do you need the ones with the plastic bezels or metal? At least I think they were metal. They are still in the back of my PT Cruiser, but if I remember right some are plastic, some are metal. I'm not sure how many of one or the other I have though! I do believe I do have atleast one or 2 sets of each!
Thanks Kim.. If you find one of those please let me know how much for it. I got wood grain contact paper on there for now but it doesn't give me the full effect. You are so lucky to have Pintos in junkyards out by you.
You are my Pinto savior lol
i think 72-75 or 76 were metal. i need the metal ones
Here's a pic of the stuff I found!! ;D
