so,,, my dad had been cruising his turbo pinto for a little while now. he got the car from a friend of his as a shell. john gave it to him free of charge. dad and i built the car over 2 -4day weekends that i went up to ohio for. the wagon runs pretty good and dad had told john he'd be impressed with the little thing. he'd just get an okay from john when he said that. well, this morning john calls up dad and says, lets go to the strip.... quaker city to be exact. so dad says ok, lets go! john got his prostreet 302 pinto wagon out and they head to the strip. john even went so far as to pay for dads entry fee to get on the track. so dad runs 3 times and gets a 13.60, a 13.40 and finishes up with a 13.10 at 106......... john couldnt get out of the 14's......  :rolleye: now i should mention that dad didnt have a tach so he didnt know where the rpms were and 2 times in 2nd gear he hit the limiter so he short shifted alot, to the tune of going through the traps shifting into 5th. if he'd of stayed in 3rd longer with the 3.0 gears hes running hed of been in the 12s. by the way my dad is 66 years old and now has a permagrin........   ;D

Pinturbo75, I'm glad to hear your dad has the Pinto running so good. Out of curiosity, is he the one that drove up to Cleveland to pick up a set of Louvers for a Wagon? If so your dad really seemed like a nice guy, I'm glad to hear that story about his car.

yes, your louvers almost did a 12 second pass!!!!! he was wanting to get ahold of you the other day although i dont remember why. can you pm me your #, thanks steve.
