I ran across this car at a Mustang show this weekend. This is a very nice 74. The owner was not there but the painter was. The car is powered by a 302 and C4. It has an 8" out back with 3.55's. 17x8 wheels, Boss 429 hood scoop, fiberglass bumpers. I drooled over it all day.

Nice car.
Is that a fuel filler door or is it blocked off?
I think it would be even better if the grille was black.
That Pinto has got to put a grin on your face when driven. :o
Thanks for posting the pics.
Its a fuel door. You push on it and it springs open. The latch looked similar to a cabinet door latch? Here is a better picture. Take a look at the belly pan.
Holly shizod that thing is sweet!!! :o I think I just found my new backround for my computer screen. How did he fit those rims in the wheel well? That car almost makes me want to give up the sleeper look and go all out!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I drooled over this car all afternoon. The kid that did the body paint and fabrication was like 20 years old. He was not sure but he thought the wheels bolted right on. I was under the impression that fox wheels required spacers. I really wish the owner was there. There were so many questions I had that the painter could not answer. Seeing this car makes me want to start working on my 73 HB ;D
I especially like the way the front bumper is done.
This Pinto is Fantastic!
I wish the owner was a part of this site so we could ask losts of questions.
I'd like to see many more shots of this car.
Thanks for posting these pictures!

I have a few more pictures of this car. I will post them when I get a chance.
As promised....

Last one.... ;D

;D
Nice ride! Especially like the rear spoiler, I'm trying to get one for mine.
THe spoiler was the one thing I forgot to ask the painter about. Do you have any info on it and where to get one?
What do ya call the spoiler on a wagon? The Luggage Rack? LMAO!
;D
is there any chance that you know how much that cost?? cause that has to be one of the nicest cars i've seen. it looks like every inch of the car has been customized, and it looks sweet.
I have no idea what it cost. I never spoke to the owner, just the body guy. Sounds like he just did the body mods and paint. It sounded like the owner took care of the mechanical and suspension.
How about the front spoiler? anyone know what it's from or what company makes it. This car is going to inspire many!!!
To my knowledge, the front spoiler was fabricated by the painter. As the belly pan in the rear, I believe it is one of a kind. :(
I hope it inspires people. It sure makes me want to restore my 73. Now if I just had the time to do it. ::)
Do you know what color the Pinto is painted????
Mike
The owner of this car is a really nice guy. My friend and I spoke with him at a local show here in Burien about 6 months ago. He hand made all the wood accents inside, as well as the rear rollpan. The front ground effect is from an early Datsun. He said that the wheels were a direct bolt on. He told us that he built the car in about 6 months, in order to show it. He had to do quite a bit of mods to the core support to fit the engine. That's about all I can remember, I'll get ahold of my friend, because I think they swapped telephone #s.

Mike, according to the sheet in the window it is a 2003 Mercedes pearl blue silver with House of Color (Magic Blue) stripes
I think this guy should offer copies of that front spoiler for sale on this site. I would buy one, I bet it works really well to keep air from getting under the car.
I would buy three. I need two and my dad could use one. I wonder what year the tail lights are from? I haven't been able to find any like them. I wonder how they would look on a wagon?
As someone said above...this car will inspire many...it did me on the tail lights. These are from a '75 Mercury Comet. As soon as I saw this post, I hit eBay and found a set. I really like the look. I am also looking for a rear spoiler similar to the one on this car. I have emailed a site for clearer pictures on one they offer and will let you know if it is similar. I am also looking for a front dam to wrap a front mounted intercooler and provide front fog lamps. Still looking for that one.
Dave
what early Datsun did the front air dam come from, does anyone know?
Looks like an early 80s fox stang spoiler.
Maybe a 82 GT? not exact... but similer...

wow, i saw this car at the seattle international auto show. amazing. this car is just breathtaking. it had so much attention everytime i went by. on his information sheet, he said he bult the car the way ford should have. it is a really nice car, and to make it better there was a shelby that matched it, but with a different owner. when i get the pics developed they're coming on here
Yeah the car attracted quite the crowd at the Bellevue Mustang show last summer. Hopefully he shows up again this year as I would like to get another look at his car.
By any chance did you get to talk with the owner?
nope, was looking for him everytime i went by. i left just before the awards, and hs still wasnt there.
If you guys talk to him, tell him about our site, would love some direct dialog about his car!
Looks Killa For Rilla!!! 8)
Forgot to say- anyone finds out about the spoiler please let me know!!! :)
"I wonder what year the tail lights are from?"
They're from a Mercury Comet. Any mid-'70s year should do. I used to have a '76 4-door Comet and they look like the lights on that car.
Evidently he got 2 sets of comet lights and replaced the backup lenses with brake lenses. Considering thats probably just a show car I guess it doesn't matter. But I do like the look. wonder how hard it would be to work backup lenses into my belly pan so I can use the two brake lenses for seqential turn signals...
All in all that is a nice car.

Shoecars body parts has the front and rear spoilers. There's a link on the links page. Also, if you do a search on "Datsun Spoiler" on ebay there is a company in California selling them on there. Pretty cheap too.

I saw it at the seattle roadster show when i was there a few months ago. just now got the pictures developed.
Its' the same car!!! :o :o :o
This should go on the calendar cover! ;D
