Title: It's an epiphany!
Post by: slowride on April 29, 2009, 03:34:20 PM
I was reading some posts trying get more info on why the Pinto's been running WAY rich, and I saw a post that answered the question! I rebuilt the carb, and everything appeared to be OK, but I remember something the old man I bought it from said. He said, "this is the GOOD carb...". Well, when I rebuilt it, I had to get a kit for a '79 carb. The post I saw mentioned it was a feedback carb that required a small vacuum source to lean it out. Well, guess what.... a '79 carb on a '74 would probably make it run rich as hell! Time to get a early carb and quit throwing money down the carb......
