Title: Finally! i have her
Post by: Priest on September 28, 2004, 06:22:02 PM
Monday the 20th i picked up my new baby, a white '74 wagon.  this is where and how i found her
(http://home.comcast.net/~hpd_priest/338.JPG)

she has 245500 miles on her, got a motor rebuild in 95, and is getting 19.28 mpg right now after the work i have done.  The previous owner kept a log that is amazing, i know every time that car got gas or oil since may of '76.  every reciepot for batteries, tires, etc....the original ownewrs manual, the build sheet, the plastic litter bag Ford hung from the headlight switch......all of it.  i've never seen a 2 year old car this well documented.

since purchase i have driven it 400 miles....i'm in love.  i loved my last one.....this one i wont let go.  I just figured i would share my joy wth all of you.

Nice wagon you've got there Priest. All that documentation adds big $$ to the value of the car ya know!! I know the full history of my '74, but it's not supported by a single scrap of evidence  :(

no....no 514, but it might be a stroker.  the plan is.....the 88 TC lima block i have on my bench, stroked to a 2.5 liter with forged dish pistons, ARP everything, ranger roller cam or a 2277 (have yet to decide), 40BOB header T03 AR.63 turbo blowing through a nice intercooler, wiring from the 86 XR7 turbo i have (bought for that purpose) LA3 computer with a PC programmer........i could go on, but you get the point.  I am looking at going so far as to wrangle a 2000 muscrat cobra IRS under it.  I can get one for $500.......it would require a decent amount of work, but it will fit.

Anyway.....I've got work to do.....but she is zipping around well right now.  thanks for the comments.....I'll be putting up a site dedicated to the build, when i get it up and going i will post it in profile.
