Hi all:
Can someone verify for me that the rear spring U-bolts are "universal"? By this I mean, are they the same size, whether you are using an axle with a 6.75" OR 8" rear end? The Ford Master parts catalog seems to indicate only one type, unless I am mistaken.
When I swap out the 6.75" unit for the 8" unit, I would like to use the U-bolts that are in better shape. Can you buy these things NEW anywhere, or are you limited to reusing them? Thanks!
Chris

check out speedway motors. they are on line. i just picked up a set. $4.99 each, shipping is like 10 bucks if you just order the bolts. thats the best price i could find. they come in 8 inch and 10 inch lengths and come with nylock nuts (a nice touch). so the 8 inchers are a little long, but a grinder fixes that pretty quick. also NEVER re-use a u bolt. once they are torqued, they can become brillte and are WAY more prone to snapping. hope this helps ya.
