Title: I have a lazy mirror!
Post by: pintogirl on April 23, 2009, 08:35:08 PM
My passenger side mirror doesn't want to stay in the place that I put it!(http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m247/myhrdly/gaah.gif) I thought closing the door was making go out of adjustment, but realized today, that it just slowly drifts down. I kinda looked at it but didn't really see a way to tighten it. Is there a way??

I would just change the whole unit, I have a couple that I have collected since getting into Pintos, but I just had this one painted along with the rest of the car! So I don't want to mess with changing it or even taking it off. Can I fix this while it is still on the car??

Thanks for any help. If all else fails, I'll stick some shoe goo or something in there to hopefully stiffen it up! LOL

Oh, this is a non remote one.  ;D

You can change the mirror guts without having to change the housing.  Just adjust the mirror all the way to the left and you should be able to see the philips head screw.  Unscrew it and the guts come out.  I have not found a way to tighten or keep the glass from moving once it gets loose.
